SXSW Will Adhere to ‘No Refund’ Policy Following Coronavirus Cancelation

SXSW will not issue refunds after it cancelled for the first time in 34 years over the Coronavirus.

What they will allow you to do is defer your registration to the year 2021, 2022 or 2023.

Many feel the policy is unfair because the consumer didn’t cancel; the City of Austin cancelled the event.

The co-founder of SXSW said the festival did not have an insurance policy that provides it with cancelation coverage because of ‘bacterial infections, communicable diseases, viruses and pandemics.’
