Now that the US has become the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, Americans aren’t too keen on the government’s response.

In a new poll taken by Insider, just 27% of Americans said the country is doing better than others at containing the spread of COVID-19. Nearly half (46%) think the US isn’t doing as well as the rest of the world in its battle.

One in five respondents rated the US handling of the situation as much worse than other developed nations.

According to Johns Hopkins’ tally, the US has over 582,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and more than 23,000 deaths, as of Tuesday morning. New York is the hardest hit state.
