Reports of Elisa Granato’s death are greatly exaggerated. In fact, she’s doing just “fine”.

A story started circulating on social media claiming that one of the UK’s first participants in a COVID-19 vaccine trial passed away from complications.

Government officials called the news “completely untrue,” while Granato herself took to Twitter to dispel the rumors.

“Nothing like waking up to a fake article on your death … I’m doing fine everyone,” the microbiologist posted before taking the account private. The BBC also shared a photo of Granato along with the caption, “I’m very much alive”.
