With non-essential small businesses forced to shut in order to prevent the coronavirus from spreading further, many are now dealing with an uptick in burglaries.

Everything inside has become a target for thieves, according to the New York Times , with reported break-ins all over the US.

Alcohol seems to be the big prize taken at restaurants, but iPads too are going missing.

“It’s like somebody pouring salt on your wound,” said Kam Razavi, an owner of Loft Bar and Bistro in San Jose.
