Four members of Carol-Ann Challoner’s family are essential workers and each came down with COVID-19. But their symptoms were all very different.

The 46-year-old teacher came down with the virus in March, which she didn’t think much about since she only presented with a rash.

Her dad, who drives an ambulance, got cold shivers and flu-like symptoms. Unfortunately, her mother, a social worker, died from the disease.

Now home from the hospital, Challoner is raising money for British National Health Service staffers in her mom’s name, hoping they’ll use the cash to pamper themselves after long shifts wearing PPE.
