The DOJ is investigating Ahmaud Arbery’s killing as a possible federal hate crime.

A spokesperson told Fox News that the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division is “assessing all of the evidence to determine whether federal hate crime charges are appropriate.”

Georgia’s Attorney General had asked the US Attorney’s office in his state to investigate.

Arbery, who is black, was killed by a white father and son who say they thought Arbery was a burglary suspect. Video appears to show Arbery fighting back after Gregory and Travis McMichael pull their guns on him. Both have been arrested on murder charges.
