GA Attorney General Seeks Probe of Misconduct Allegations in Ahmaud Arbery Case

Georgia’s Attorney General has asked the GBI to look into misconduct allegations by local prosecutors in the killing of Ahmaud Arbery. Gregory and Travis McMichael were finally arrested two months after Arbery’s killing when online video showing the killing sparked outrage.

The GBI will investigate the district attorney offices in Waycross and Brunswick, Georgia to find out how the February 23rd case of 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery’s killing was handled.

Attorney General Chris Carr has appointed an African-American district attorney from Atlanta to handle the case as federal prosecutors consider hate-crime charges against the McMichaels.
