New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has extended his state’s stay-at-home order, though some parts of the state will be allowed to reopen Friday.

Cuomo announced Thursday that five regions had met all seven health benchmarks and begin Phase 1 of reopening. Benchmarks include a 14-day decline in COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths, infection rates, and testing numbers.

New York has been hit harder than any other U.S. state, with over 343,000 cases and 27,000 deaths. New York City will remain under the stay-at-home order.
