New Yorkers are getting sick of fireworks keeping them up at night – so they’re making a little noise of their own.

Early Tuesday morning, protesters gathered outside the home of NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio and honked their horns.

City Councilman Chaim Deutch said the message was simple: “If we can’t sleep, you won’t sleep”.

New York City has recorded nearly 9,000 fireworks complaints since June 1st – when past years have seen only a few dozen.
