Over 100 people in northern India were killed by lightning strikes across two states.

In Bihar, the disaster management team reported that 83 people were killed and another 20 were in the hospital with injuries. In nearby Uttar Pradesh, 20 others were reported dead.

Authorities have urged residents to stay indoors as the forecast calls for even more bad weather over the next few days and according to the Prime Minister relief efforts have already begun.
