The White House has signed off on legislation imposing sanctions on China over its treatment of Hong Kong.

On Wednesday, President Trump announced “massive tariffs” on China along with an executive order that ends preferential treatment for Hong Kong.

Chinese officials say they will impose retaliatory sanctions, saying “Hong Kong affairs are purely China’s internal affairs and no foreign country has the right to interfere.”
