Pat Hughes to be inducted to Baseball Hall of Fame

The long-time radio voice for the Chicago Cubs will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Saturday, as the 47th recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award. The award is given to broadcasters for “major contributions to baseball”.

Hughes has been the team’s radio voice for 28 years, and will join fellow Chicago broadcasters Bob Elson, Jack Brickhouse, Harry Caray, and Ken “Hawk” Harrelson in Cooperstown.

The induction ceremony will take place at 2pm on Saturday, and will be streamed on mlb.com.
