Former Chicago Alderman Ed Burke found guilty in his corruption trial

Former Chicago Alderman Ed Burke convicted today by a federal jury on racketeering conspiracy charges and a dozen other counts by a jury. The jury deliberated for 23 hours over 4 days. Co defendants Charles Cui also found guilty on multiple counts and Peter Andrews found not guilty on all counts. Burke was the longest serving alderman in Chicago history and among 38 other Chicago alderman to be convicted of crimes since 1972. Burke will be sentenced in June.
