The Illinois Department of Public Health with a warning about rabid bats

Now that the weather is warming up, The Illinois department of public health issuing a warning about wild animals that may carry rabies especially bats. In the past 10 days two rabid bats have been reported in Cook and Will Counties. The bats were found inside two homes. if a bat is found inside a home, it is important to try and cover it with a container and contact animal control so it can be tested for rabies. IDPH reminding those with pets, livestock and horses to make sure the animals are up to date on their rabies vaccines.
