Brandon Johnson and Union Leaders Speak at Illinois Delegation Breakfast Wednesday

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson finally addressed Illinois Delegates at the Illinois Delegation Breakfast Wednesday morning. He was a little hoarse saying he had his, “preacher raspy voice today.” The mayor went after Republicans saying, “The only thing more painful than the Republican Party is breakdancing at the Summer Olympics.”

Many union leaders from Chicago and throughout the country spoke about the importance of unions. Bob Reiter, the President of the Chicago Federation of Labor was the first speaker at the breakfast. Eric Dean, the President of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers spoke as well. Dean is a Chicago native.

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul echoed rapper Kendrick Lamar over and over saying the Republican Party is “Not Like Us.”

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Georgia Senator Reverand Raphael Warnock spoke to the delegates as well.
