CTA Red Line Trains Re-routed Due To Police Activity In Subway

UPDATE 4:45PM: Service is resuming on CTA Red Line trains after running on the elevated tracks this afternoon from the North Side to downtown, after an unauthorized person on the tracks in the Loop near Washington, according to the CTA.

Red Line trains are experiencing minor delays and CTA personnel are working to restore normal service.

CTA Red Line trains are running on the elevated tracks from Fullerton the North Side to downtown, Tuesday afternoon, after an unauthorized person on the tracks in the Loop near Washington, the CTA said.

Red Line trains are being rerouted to the elevated lines between Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown.

Then, trains will stop at Cermak-Chinatown and make all normal stops to 95th/Dan Ryan.

As of Tuesday afternoon rush hour, trains continue to be re-routed on the Loop elevated structure.

Meanwhile, Metra Milwaukee North Line trains were stopped in both directions near Deerfield after an inbound train struck a pedestrian, near Chestnut and Deerfield Roads, Tuesday afternoon.
