(CHICAGO) Lanes of North Lake Shore Drive are scheduled to close overnights on weekdays for a resurfacing project throughout the next four weeks.
Beginning Monday, two northbound lanes of North Lake Shore Drive between Grand and North avenues will close for resurfacing overnights Monday through Thursday for the next four weeks, according to a statement from the Chicago Department of Transportation.
“Work will be coordinated to minimize impacts during Cubs home playoff games,” the statement said.
When work is scheduled for the portion of Lake Shore Drive between Walton and Michigan (the S curve), all lanes will be closed and traffic detoured via Michigan and Chicago, the statement said. The timing of the full closures, which will occur during two separate overnights, is dependent on weather and other factors.
Single-lane closures will also happen during the resurfacing project for pavement striping and work on the curb, shoulders and ramps, the statement said. Those closures are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and overnight from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.
