(CHICAGO) Bail has been denied for the father of 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee, who was shot and killed last fall.
25-year-old Pierre Stokes is accused of shooting two men and a woman, on March 8, the same day authorities announced charges against 22-year-old Dwright Boone-Doty in the November killing of Stokes’ son – Tyshawn Lee.
Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez last week said that Boone-Doty lured the boy into an alley because of his father’s gang affiliation. “Doty took out a gun and shot Tyshawn multiple times, at close range. This defendant was facing the child when he shot him,” said Alvarez.
Pierre Stokes is charged with multiple counts of attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon for last week’s shooting near 79th and South Ashland.
Police say 2 men, documented gang members, were struck in the arm. The girlfriend of Corey Morgan – who is also charged in Tyshawn Lee’s murder – suffered a graze wound to the face.
