(ITASCA) Part of Parkside Avenue in northwest suburban Itasca will permanently close Thursday morning as crews work to realign the road for a tollway construction project.
Parkside will close between Thorndale and Granville avenues at 7 a.m. Thursday, according to a statement from the Illinois Tollway.
The portion of the road that connects to Thorndale will be removed to make room for new ramps and frontage roads as part of the Illinois Route 390 Tollway Project, according to the statement. Parkside will be realigned to the west to connect to Arlington Heights Road.
During the construction, a detour will direct traffic along Arlington Heights Road, County Club Drive, Surrey Lane and Granville Avenue, the tollway said. The work is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
