(CHICAGO) Chicago Police are warning residents of armed robberies in January and February at two North Side businesses.
In the two incidents, a man enters the store and demands money from the cash register while armed with a small revolver, police said in a community alert.
The first robbery happened in Lincoln Park at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 9 in the 700 block of West Fullerton. The second happened at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the 2800 block of North Broadway in Lake View.
In the Lincoln Park robbery, the suspect is described as a 45 to 50-year-old black man who was wearing a red and gray plaid trapper winter hat, black jacket, partially faded blue jeans and white sneakers, police said.
A 40 to 45-year-old black man is suspected in the Lake View robbery, in which he was also wearing a trapper-style hat, police said. The 5-foot-10, 150-pound man was also wearing a black jacket over a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white gym shoes.
