(Chicago) Bears Chairman George McCaskey is speaking to reporters for the first time since the team released Ray McDonald following allegations of domestic violence. He was asked if he had any regret in signing McDonald in the first place, given his history…
“I’ve asked my self that question a lot,” McCaskey said. “What more could I have done, is there somebody else we could have consulted with, should I have taken more time to make a decision. I don’t know. We thought we had a good structure, a good support system and we thought we had safeguards in place in case something like this happened.”
The Bears signed the defensive end in March despite his previous run-ins with the law. McDonald was arrested in California Monday on charges of child endangerment and domestic violence.
