(GLENVIEW) A suspect is in custody for allegedly threatening a high school student in north suburban Glenview Wednesday, prompting lockdowns at two schools.
A staff member at Glenbrook South Off-Campus High School, 1835 Landwehr Road, called police at 3:29 p.m. after a student reported that someone threatened him in the parking lot, according to a statement from Glenview police. The suspect implied that he had a weapon before walking away from the area.
Glenbrook South High School and Winkelman School were placed on a lockdown in response to the potential threat while officers searched a nearby neighborhood, police said. The suspect was located and taken into custody, but no weapon was found.
The incident remains under investigation and charges against the suspect are pending, police said.
